๐ฐ Latest News from Koh Tao
What's happening on our favorite island?
Koh Tao is constantly changing. Sea conditions, visibility, marine life sightings and local events make every week a little different from the last.
Here at Dive Point Koh Tao, we spend every day on and around the water, which means we get to experience these changes firsthand. In this blog post, we'd like to share some recent highlights from the island and our daily diving operations.
๐ Excellent Visibility Conditions
Over the past few weeks, divers have enjoyed excellent visibility at many of Koh Tao's most popular dive sites. Chumphon Pinnacle, Southwest Pinnacle and White Rock have all provided great diving conditions with clear water and comfortable temperatures.
Visibility can change throughout the year, but recently many dives have offered impressive views of the reefs and the large schools of fish that make Koh Tao famous.
๐ Marine Life Highlights
The reefs around Koh Tao continue to be full of life. Divers have reported regular sightings of turtles, barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays and large schools of fusiliers.
Several dive sites have also seen healthy populations of butterflyfish, angelfish and triggerfish, providing plenty of opportunities for underwater photography.
And of course, everyone is still keeping an eye out for the next whale shark appearance.
๐ข Dive Site Schedule Updates
One advantage of diving with Dive Point Koh Tao is our fixed weekly dive site schedule.
This allows guests to plan ahead and choose specific days for famous sites like Chumphon Pinnacle and Southwest Pinnacle, two of the most popular dive locations around the island.
Knowing where the boat is going before you arrive makes planning your dive holiday much easier.
โ๏ธ Weather Conditions
The weather on Koh Tao has been typical for the season, with warm tropical temperatures and plenty of sunshine between occasional rain showers.
Sea conditions have generally remained calm, allowing comfortable boat trips and enjoyable diving throughout the week.
As always in the tropics, conditions can change quickly, but overall it has been an excellent time to be underwater.
๐๏ธ Life on Koh Tao
Away from the dive sites, the island continues to offer the relaxed atmosphere that visitors love. Beaches, restaurants, cafรฉs and sunset viewpoints remain busy with travelers enjoying everything Koh Tao has to offer.
Many divers combine their underwater adventures with hiking, snorkeling, scooter tours and visits to some of the island's quieter beaches.
